For all of our new clients, treatment starts with
our intake process.

Our intake process has three stages

  • If you are interested in starting services with us, you can schedule a free, 15-minute consultation call. During the call, you will talk to Dr. Eix and provide a brief overview of what you are currently experiencing and what you hope to get from treatment. Dr. Eix will give an initial impression of whether or not Encouraged Psychology is a good fit and will give you the opportunity to ask any initial questions that you have. This call can also help you decide if the personality match between you and Dr. Eix is a good fit for you. If you agree that Encouraged Psych is a good fit, you can schedule your first intake appointment.

  • If you think Encouraged Psych is a good fit (whether or not you have scheduled a consultation call), you can schedule your first intake appointment. In your intake appointments, you will provide information about your current symptoms and therapy needs, your personal history, and your treatment history. Dr. Eix will use your self-report and a variety of questionnaire measures to assess your current risk, current diagnoses, and treatment needs. This process usually takes about 2-3 sessions, but it can vary depending on the client. By the end of the intake process, Dr. Eix will be able to provide you with a current diagnosis and a treatment recommendation.

Please note that completing the intake process does not guarantee services. The intake process is designed to provide a diagnosis and assess fit based on treatment recommendations. If Encouraged Psych is a good fit, services will be offered after the intake. If is it not, then referrals to other treatment providers will be offered.

  • In the final intake session or in a follow-up call, Dr. Eix will provide her diagnostic summary and her current treatment recommendations based on the information you provide during the intake process. If it is a treatment we can provide at Encouraged Psych, you will have the opportunity to schedule your first session and start services. If the treatment recommendation would be better provided elsewhere, Dr. Eix will provide appropriate referrals.
